Cameron Johnson - Diabetes Dietitian
Cameron Johnson is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) with over 2 decades of experience in the nutritional management of diabetes.
Throughout his career, he has made significant contributions to the field, including as a Senior Dietitian in tertiary teaching hospitals, specialist clinics and diabetes institutes. He has presented at international and national conferences, as well as numerous professional development seminars. His dedication to education extends to the mentoring of health professionals, medical staff and students. He has been actively involved in research and has worked as a health coach, research assistant and co-authored studies in this area.
Cameron is the founder of Deconstructing Diabetes, an online nutrition consultancy service that helps clients simplify eating with diabetes. His expertise as a diabetes dietitian has enabled him to develop a highly specialised suite of products and services that support his clients to work on the habits and skills that assist them to navigate their diabetes journey with confidence.
Cameron is currently writing his first book on the dietary management of Type 2 Diabetes. This book is a culmination of 20 year of experience and insights as a diabetes dietitian, a guide that goes beyond dietary advice, and includes how to stay on track with habits, goals, be accountable and consistent without adding the burden that can accompany diabetes management. His book is due to release in late 2024.
In his spare time, Cameron enjoys nature photography, hiking, rock-climbing and freediving.
